Chop 4 onions and 5 cloves of garlic.
Heat a pan to Medium (6/10)→ Add ½ stick of butter → Add the chopped onions → Season with salt → Sautee for 20 minutes → Add garlic after 10 minutes → Turn off.
Pour 500mL of stock into a pot → Heat to High (9/10), and bring to a boil → Add the sauteed onions and garlic into the pot with the stock → Mix together → Season with salt and pepper → Ladle the onion soup into 4 oven-safe bowls.
Toast 4 slices of bread → Add the toasted bread to the top of each bowl → Cover with shredded cheese (Gruyere OAO) → Put the bowls on a roasting pan, then into the oven → Cook at 400 C for 10 minutes, or until crispy on top.
Eat and enjoy :) Warning - this is very hot and takes a long time to cool down.
